Enter the gallery ↘OTEGUI ATELIER
The Atelier develops artworks from concept to physical form, bringing together artistic direction, material research and the specialist processes required by each piece.
Traditional craft and emerging technologies coexist naturally. The method is chosen for the work — never the other way around.
DIGITAL GALLERY
Painting and sculpture presented as an evolving body of work. Selected pieces remain under artistic and production development.

A FLEXIBLE STUDIO
Otegui Atelier is conceived as a flexible platform for artistic development. Depending on the work, the process may bring together digital modelling, material research, engineering, traditional craft and specialist fabrication.
The structure remains deliberately open: collaborators and production methods are selected according to the needs of the piece, while artistic authorship and direction remain constant.
THE ARTIST
A relationship with contemporary art that precedes the Atelier by decades.
Alongside a long professional career as a notary in Valencia, José Antonio maintained a sustained involvement with contemporary art. From 1994 to 2010 he was a shareholder of Galería La Nave, a contemporary art gallery in Valencia.
That experience placed him in continuous contact with artists, exhibitions and the language surrounding contemporary art. Otegui Atelier marks a different chapter: moving from proximity to art towards the development of his own work.
Discover his story ↗A LIFE AROUND ART
For more than fifteen years, contemporary art formed part of José Antonio de Otegui’s life alongside his notarial career. His involvement as a shareholder of Galería La Nave offered a sustained view of art from the gallery side — through exhibitions, artists and the conversations that surround a work before and after it enters the world.

“For years, he experienced contemporary art from the other side of the gallery. Now, the perspective has changed.”
PROCESS
Each method enters only when the work requires it. Development remains led by the artistic proposition, not by the production tool.
Composition, drawing, gesture and visual direction establish the work.
Digital studies, scale tests and material exploration refine the idea.
Craft, casting, machining, additive or robotic processes are considered as required.
Surface, patina, colour and presentation return the object to the artist’s intended expression.
ADVANCED MAKING
Otegui Atelier explores contemporary fabrication and computational processes when conventional methods are not enough to realise a work as conceived.
Technology is never the subject of the work. It is a means of extending form, scale, surface and material possibility. For each project, the Atelier can bring together the expertise and specialist fabrication partners required by the piece.
Digital studies can test geometry, scale and spatial relationships before material decisions are fixed.
Surface, weight, reflection, texture and structural behaviour are considered as part of the artistic proposition.
Robotic, additive, machining, casting or specialist craft processes may be selected according to the work.
The Atelier assembles the appropriate external expertise around each project rather than imposing a single production method.
A PRINCIPLE
“Technology is selected only when it serves the work.”
Human vision. Material intelligence. Contemporary possibility.
